Gawa Ghee (গাওয়া ঘি)
Nothing shouts comfort food more than plain and humble ghee-bhaat with a pinch of salt and fresh green chilli. Ghee or clarified butter is a quintessential ingredient for Indian cooking. In Bengali homes, it is no exception. Gawa Ghee means the ghee is prepared entirely from cow milk, and no other ingredient like buffalo milk is there. With its slightly nutty aroma and creamy caramel colour, Ghee has won hearts over the years.
